NEW INFO - FREE APPLES FOR MEMBERS It's time to gather and enjoy the benefits of the Harvest with your fellow gleaners. And your chance to drop off baked items for the Farmers Baskets.

About the Event
NEW INFO - FREE APPLES FOR MEMBERS!
We are getting a small trailer load of apples donated for the Harvest Gathering on Saturday.
So come by to drop off your baked goods, or join us for the Harvest Festival and grab some apples.
We don't know what kind yet, but there should be enough for everyone to grab a bucket or 2.
All events are at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2565 N. Main St., Crossville.
Basket Drop-off - Friday, November 1st - 4pm to 6pm & Saturday, November 2nd - 9am to 11am
Harvest Gathering - Saturday, November 2nd - 11:30am to 1pm
Harvest Gathering:
We will supply smoked pork butt, rolls, sauce, condiments, utensils, cups, plates, and water.
Attendees should bring a covered dish that will feed at least 12 people.
Bring ice if your dish needs to stay cold (for example, bring a separate container full of ice to set your dish in).
If you bring a hot dish, heat it before arrival. We will have outlets for crockpots.
** We will once again present blankets created from your squares to Veterans in need at the event!!!
ETGC's First Cake Contest:
Rules:
You must bake your own cake.
Cake has a two layer minimum
All decorations must be edible
All entries must be submitted at farmers' basket drop-off on Friday, November 1.
Cakes will be judged on - Theme, Taste, & Overall Appearance.
*Cake Contest Entries will not count towards member's volunteer hours
Farmer’s Baskets: ****15 BASKETS****
Our chance to show our farmers our appreciation through baked goods.
All items must be shelf-stable
No icing – No refrigeration
Cut and bag items
When bagging, consider the number of items per basket (e.g., 4-6 cookies per basket, 4 brownies per basket, etc.)
Volunteer hours will be provided as follows:
Quick Breads 2 mini loaves – 2 hours (individually wrapped and labeled)
Brownies 8X8 pan - 2 hours (bring in a disposable pan and uncut)
Muffins 1/2 dozen – 2 hours (individually wrapped and labeled)
Cookies q dozen approximately 4inch diameter – 2 hours (bring in disposable pan/container
Scones 1 dozen – 2 hours
James/Jellies 1 half pint - 2 hours (preserved using USDA canning methods and canned in 2024)
Snack mix 1 gallon bag-2 hours
Non-edibles i.e., soaps, bath bombs, 1 bar 2 hours, 1 large bath bomb 1 hour (label accordingly)
Other items not listed will be determined at the time of drop-off.
