Rainwater Harvesting and Irrigation 101

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON 5/6/26 @ 6 A.M. PLEASE COME BACK TO THIS SITE AT THAT TIME!

We’ll start with the basics of setting up a 55-gallon barrel to collect rainwater and then move on to building a simple irrigation system using drip hoses.

What You’ll Learn:

    •    Rainwater Collection Basics: Master the art of setting up and maintaining a catch basin with a 55-gallon barrel.

    •    Irrigation Setup: Learn to connect and install drip hoses for efficient watering.

    •    Advanced Options: Explore the use of small pumps for more remote areas, giving you greater flexibility.

Hands-On Experience: This class is fully interactive and conducted outdoors, so come prepared for uneven terrain. You’ll build the system on-site, and we’ll cover everything from getting wet to handling tools and materials.

Important Note: Participants should wear appropriate clothing and be ready for the possibility of getting wet and working with tools and materials that might get messy.

Class Fee: This class is free for all 2026 ETGC members. For all non-members, the class fee is just $10. TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH CLASS: Please register for class and follow the directions. Volunteers are required to arrive a half hour early and stay a half hour after class ends.
