About the Event
Like all ETGC classes, we’ve found the best way to learn anything new is to take things one step at a time. Starting to sew is simple if you can take things one step at a time and practice, practice, practice!
This class is the second in a series of Sewing 101 classes.
Don’t worry if you didn’t attend the first class, you can still attend.
We’re continuing our learning with a simple project (draw string bag) using basic sewing skills and tools.
You will learn how to:
• Cut fabric
• Read a pattern
• Use basic sewing techniques
There will be experienced sewers in the room to help you learn how to sew the basics and overcome any hurdles that may have stopped you from sewing before.
For this class you need to bring:
• Sewing machine
• Scissors (fabric and thread snips)
• 1 yard - Fabric any color or pattern (Cotton)
• 1 yard - Twill Tape or Cotton Cording or Ribbon
• Thread
** If you have your own, rotary cutter and cutting board bring along too. If not, we’ll have some to share.
This first sewing project is quick and easy! It's just perfect for a beginning sewer, heck it's fun for an experience sewer too!
This class is free to ETGC members / $5.00 for non-members.
